OVERVIEW | Bunnahabhain Ceòbanach harks to the distillery's early days, when the spirit was heavily peated. Aged in ex-bourbon casks for more than 10 years, this is a rich and complex whisky with a maritime character, and will match well with chocolate, smoked fish or red meat. |
TASTING NOTES | NOSE Sprightly aromas of peat, tarry rope and ozone, lifted by aromatic citrus – lemon peel in particular. Has a real spring in its step. PALATE Fresh and lively. Soft mouthfeel, with clean, refreshing lemon oil and freshly ground black pepper, followed by evocative maritime notes of brine, ozone and seaweed. FINISH Medium, with good balance between the peat and citrus. |
