About Whitley Neill Gin
Whitley Neill Gin is inspired by Africa, but distilled in England through the craftsmanship of Johnny Neill. Johnny is a direct descendant of Thomas Greenall and the last in a long line of distillers. With the Whitley Neill Gin they bring the expertise and a lifelong love for adventure of 8 generations.
This gin is small-batch and combines rare African botanicals, along with the traditional gin botanicals. This creates a unique and complex blend of aromas. Finding and foraging these African botanicals has been an adventure which distinguishes Whitley Neill from any other gins. Whitley Neill consists of a total of nine botanicals. Among those, one clearly springs out: Baobab fruit. The combination with Cape Gooseberries during the distillation, gives Whitley Neill an extraordinary nose. An aroma with subtle citrus and clear juniper. The Baobab tree is known as the rree of life and every gin sold means 5 pence going to the foundation for these trees.
The gin has been rewarded several times over the last years, winning many competitions all over the world.
Tasting Notes
Whitley Neill Gin is slightly softer and much smoother than traditional Gins, with rich notes of juniper and citrus, pot pourri and exotic spices. The finish is a long one, with a subtle fade of herbs, cocoa and candied lemon peels, while the nose is both citrus-sweet and peppery, with a distinctive floral aroma.
