Japanese whisky has taken the world by storm. It all started a century ago, when Shinjiro Torii founded the very first malt whisky distillery in Japan: Yamazaki. This pioneering distillery now celebrates its 100th anniversary, and to mark the occasion Suntory has released a series of limited-edition single malts. Yamazaki 12 Years Old 100th Anniversary Edition is composed of meticulously selected malt whiskies, all cask-aged for a minimum of 12 years. It offers aromas of peach, pineapple, grapefruit, clove, candied orange, vanilla and Mizunara oak. The palate has notes of coconut, cranberry and butter, leading to a long finish of sweet ginger and cinnamon. The label pays tribute to the birthplace of Japanese whisky, with a special illustration of the legendary distillery in deep copper tones.
